R2Sonic 2020-V

R2Sonic 2020-V

The Sonic 2020-V is R2Sonic’s highly portable, entry-level multibeam sonar. It is specifically designed to be small, easy-to-use, and offers remarkable performance at a competitive price. This system is ideal for integration on the smallest of vessels, as well as on Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASV) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV). It can easily be integrated into all platform types, including ROVs and larger surface vessels.

Key Features and Capabilities

  • Exceptional Portability: The sonar is compact and light, with dimensions of 140 x 161 x 133.5 mm and a mass of just 4.4 kg.

  • Low Power Consumption: Operates efficiently with a low average power consumption of 20W.

  • High Performance: Capable of a sounding depth of 200m+ and achieving a bottom detect resolution of 3mm.

  • User-Defined Swath: Features a user-selectable swath sector in real-time, ranging from 10° to 130°.

  • Advanced Stabilization: Includes Near-field Focusing, Roll Stabilized Beams, and Pitch Stabilized Beams for accurate data collection.

Core Technical Specifications

  • Selectable Frequencies: Operates across 200kHz to 450kHz, with an option for 700kHz.

  • Beamwidth: Varies based on frequency, with a 1.8° x 1.8° beamwidth at 450kHz.

  • Soundings per Ping: Delivers 1024 soundings per ping.

  • Maximum Survey Speed: Supports survey speeds up to 11.1 knots for full coverage.

  • Ping Rate: Offers a high ping rate of up to 60Hz.
